JAMMU, Apr 8: Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), in the wake of Coronavirous pandemic in the Union Territory, has supplied 21000 masks to the district administration, Army, BSF and local populace.
Pertinently, JK KVIB has mobilized its unit holders and Khadi institutions to ensure production of cotton masks as per the laid down specifications, for their further procurement by the district administration in view of COVID-19.
Besides, on the request of the District Administration of various districts the Board has roped in its tailoring unit holders for stitching up of masks at district level. Besides, the Board has designated its district officers as Nodal officers who are working round the clock for time-bound accomplishment of assigned job to ensure production of masks on large scale.
Meanwhile, thirty KVIB unit holders have received supply order for production of more than six lakh masks from various district administrations.
Additionally, KVIB institutions are also providing working capital/ raw material for manufacturing of these masks.
