JKPCC for providing PPEs to frontline workers

JAMMU, Apr 9: Former MLA and Spokesperson JKPCC, Ashok Kumar has urged upon the Government of India and J&K Government to provide requisite PPEs (Personal Protective Equipments) including N95 masks to all the frontline workers, paramedical staff and doctors.
In a statement here, senior Congress leader from Chenab Valley said this section of society is contributing to save human lives, risking their own and also the lives of their family members everyday to fight against Covid-19 disease, adding their lives are most important to save humanity at such times of emergency, so providing them requirements properly, besides timely financial help and salaries is the need of the hour.
Kumar further said that the extension order from the Government of Jammu and Kashmir should be given immediately to the contractual paramedical staff of the Union Territory as they are working day and night against the pandemic.
“It is a tough and threshold time to extend their services to save human lives,” Ashok Kumar said.
Ashok further said as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court of India, test for Covid-19 should be free in private laboratories, adding these laboratories are taking Rs 4500 per person for testing Covid-19, which was a matter of great concern.
“The positive cases of Covid-19 in our nation and Union Territory are continuously on the rise, so the safety of forefront doctors and paramedical staff is the duty of both the Government of India and J&K Government,” Ashok maintained.
