Working still destroyed, accused arrested

RAJOURI, Apr 14: Tightening its noose around illegal manufacturing and sale of desi liquor, Police today unearthed a working still under the jurisdiction of Nowshera Police Station area and arrested the accused persons besides affecting seizure of manufactured liquor.
Giving details, Additional SP Nowshera, GL Sharma said that in Nonial village of Nowshera, Police team headed by SHO Fareed Ahmed noticed two persons namely Karim Hussain, son of Mohammad Yousaf and Neeraj Kumar son of Devinder Kumar, both resident of ward number 2 Nowshera, who were carrying a plastic gallon and a plastic bottle.
The duo was put to frisking and around six litres of liquor were recovered from them following which they were arrested and booked under Excise Act as well as for violation of lockdown restrictions. A case in FIR 65/2020 has been registered in this regard at Nowshera police station.
On the disclosure of arrested accused, another team of police, under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officer Nowshera, Zakir Shaheen Mirza, conducted raid on suspected location in Nonial village where a working still was unearthed.
Two person namely Vaid Parkash, son of Jia Lal and Dharam Pal son of Lachman Dass, residents of Nonial, were arrested on the spot while manufacturing Desi liquor. Five liters of illicit liquor and working still material were seized on the spot whereas around 200 kilograms of Lahaan was also destroyed.
Both the person have been arrested and booked in a case FIR 66/2020 under section Section 188 IPC and Excise Act.
