Local daily bread earners facing hardships, waiting for relief: NAUP

JAMMU, Apr 14: Expressing deep concern over the plight of local daily bread earners, National Awami United Party (NAUP) national president Sandeep Singh today urged the Government to provide relief and ration to the poor families of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Social organizations along with Government is providing relief and other material to migrant labourers but unfortunately local daily bread earners are facing hardships and waiting for relief.
Attracting the attention of the Union Territory administration towards the plight of local daily bread earners, Sandeep said local daily bread earners like road side vendors, daily item suppliers, motor mechanics etc have not received such relief from the concerned distributing agencies.
He further said that some people have taken relief twice and some are still with empty hands. Biased approach should not be adopted by the distributing agencies and a mechanism should be adopted for distribution of relief with consultation of mohalla committees/senior citizens of the area during lockdown period, Sandeep demanded.
