Advisor Narula reviews lockdown measures

LEH, Apr 15: Umang Narula, Advisor, Ladakh today convened a meeting to review the lockdown measures stipulated by the Consolidated Revised Guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs for containment of COVID-19.
The meeting was attended by Saugat Biswas, Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sargun Shukla, Sr. Superintendent of Police Leh, Dr Phuntsog Angchuk, Director Health and Dr Motup Dorjay, Chief Medical Officer Leh. Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Vinod Gupta Sr. Superintendent of Police Kargil and Dr Ibrahim Khan, CMO Kargil attended the meeting through Video Conference.
The Advisor stated that the containment measures should be implemented strictly and asked Deputy Commissioners to ensure that there is no unchecked movement into the containment zones except for maintaining essential services.
The meeting also discussed the select permitted activities allowed with effect from 20th April, as per the Consolidated Revised Guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs. The Advisor asked Divisional Commissioner Ladakh and Deputy Commissioners to convene meetings with the stakeholders for starting of the activities that are permissible from 20th April.
While discussing the start of MGNREGA works, he asked the Deputy Commissioners to spread awareness regarding social distancing norms among the workers and ensure that the workers are provided masks at the work site.
The Advisor also instructed that adequate screening should be done at the entry and exit points of all offices. He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure daily sanitization of all offices and other establishments.
The Director Health informed the meeting that testing of symptomatic persons and persons identified during contact tracing are also being taken from the containment zones.
The issue of trained manpower for sample collection was also discussed during the meeting and the Advisor instructed Director Health to train sufficient qualified medical professionals for this purpose.
