JAMMU, Apr 4: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) MLA, Ashwani Sharma today staged walk-out in the Legislative Assembly over inordinate delay in the implementation of G D Wadhwa Committee report on the refugees.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Mr Sharma said, “G D Wadhwa, the then Financial Commissioner Revenue, had submitted report on refugees’ issues about six years back but till date Government has not taken any step to implement the recommendations”.
“Even six years after the submission of the report, the Government says that recommendations are under the consideration of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department”, he said while pointing towards the written reply to his question, adding “during the past 65 years the human rights of the refugees are being violated”.
After agitating over the issue for some time, Mr Sharma staged walk-out.
