JAMMU, Apr 17: In light of the SOP issued by the Government, District Development Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan today reviewed the supply of essentials in Sunjwan and Bathindi areas of the distirct.
The DDC has deputed a team of officers headed by ADC, Dr. Tahir Firdous along with SDM South, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse and SP South, Vinay Sharma to Sunjwan and Bathindi to take stock of essential supplies in the area.
It was found that sufficient supplies with respect to grocery items, vegetables, LPG, medicines is being ensured to the locals residing there. It was decided to further strengthen mechanism of supply of essential commodities by facilitating the supply of grocery items, vegetables, LPG, medicines and also roping in more number of water tankers for smooth supply of drinking water so that locals do not face any difficulty.
The team of officers/ officials for regulation of essential supplies as per protocol was also activated. A local control room (Contact No. 7006650991) has also been set-up to address any problems/grievance faced by locals with respect to essential supplies.
A District level Emergency Operation Center is already in operation with the numbers as 0191-2571616, 0191-2571912, 0191-2520542. It was decided that the essential supplies in the hot-spots shall be strictly as per the protocol; however no dearth of shortage of supplies shall be ensured in the area.
As a measure for community response and participation in fight against the COVID-19 social contact group in the area was constituted for quick need response mechanism. An appeal to the public was made to register their grievance. Later the DDC ordered for proper sanitation of all the vehicles moving in and out of the area.
