2 killed, 82 hurt in accidents

SRINAGAR, May 16: Two persons died while 82 others including 42 school students were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir valley today.
Reports said that a bus bearing registration number JK01D/4744 turned turtle near Dadompora-Chadoora in Budgam district early in the morning. The mishap resulted in death of two passengers namely, Mohammad Altaf alias Atta 28, son of Mohammad Abdullah, of Dadompora- Chadoora) and Nazir Ahmad Najar 22, son of Abdul Ahad, resident of Surasyar in Chadoora.
Thirty seven other passengers traveling in the bus also received injuries. The injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Chadoora where 27 injured were referred to SMHS, Srinagar. A case has been registered in this regard.
A bus bearing registration number JK03/4391 carrying students of Haji Alam Din, School Damhal Hanji Pora (Kulgam) for excursion collided with a tractor at Bogund, Kulgam, resulting in injuries to 42 students and the tractor driver. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital, Kulgam for treatment.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03C/4744 turned turtle near Brakpora, Anantnag, causing injuries to two passengers namely Mohammad Sikandar Wani 44, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Yai Bamdoora and Dilshada 30, wife of Ghulam Nabi Mir of Hardpora-Achabal. Both the injured were hospitalized.
