POONCH, Apr 17: A woman from Thera-Topa village of Mendhar area delivered a baby in 108 ambulance this morning.
Today, a patient namely Azmat Bi wife of Wazir Mohd, residence of village Thera-Topa (a far flung area of Mendhar) had acute labour pain, enroute hospital. The attendants of the patient called the ambulance officials for service at 108.
After checkup, the pregnant woman was referred to Sub District Hospital Mendhar, but the woman delivered the baby in the ambulance. The EMT officials conducted the successful delivery.
BMO Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Khan said that woman delivered the baby in the 108 ambulance. The woman and her child are healthy, he said, adding that this was the first delivery case in 108 ambulance since its launch by the District Administration under the supervision of Lieutenant Governor J&K GC Murmu.
