Bhalla flags off ‘Damri Shoba Yatra’ to Haridwar

JAMMU, Apr 4: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla, today flagged off 4-day ‘Damri Shoba Yatra’ from Shree Guru Ravi Dass ji Sabha in Krishna Nagar for Haridwar.
As many as, 5000 devotees of Shree Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj, from different parts of Jammu province, followed the ‘palki’ of Swami Shree Shree 108 Gurdeep Giri ji Maharaj in 50 buses to Haridwar Tirath Yatra.
Addressing the devotees, Mr. Bhalla said that true and selfless service to the mankind is the greatest service to God. He said the path to enlightenment is in   ones actions and if actions are based on truth and justice they are likely to take a person nearer to God. He said that spiritualism can lead to peace and calm for the turbulent minds of the present day material world which will in turn pave way for a societal renaissance.
The Minister said all religions preach love, affection, care and selfless service towards humanity. He said society must rise above caste considerations and work together for the uplift and wellbeing of all, particularly those who are poor, downtrodden and backward.
Mr. Bhalla said those who preach hatred in the name of religion do not understand religion and Godliness.
Paying rich tributes to Guru Ravi Dass ji, the Minister said that he was an epitome of societal reforms and humanity. He taught the lessons of universal brotherhood, tolerance and peace which has greater relevance in today’s world.
