JAMMU, May 16: Minority Cell National Conference (NC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Vijay Bakaya, MLC, discussed various issues concerning the displaced Pandit community from Kashmir Valley.
As per a release, the meeting, while discussing the transit accommodations for displaced youth said the same is not sufficient at Vessu in Anantnag and Nathnasoo in Kupwara district.
In an appeal he urged the Government to construct more such quarters for accommodation of newly appointed youth.
Meanwhile a delegation of the Cell led by M K Yogi met the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita, and expressed concern over long duration power curtailments in Jagti township, which has added to the woes of inmates there.
The delegation urged the authorities to tackle the issue more speculatively and imaginatively so that some relief can be provided to the inmates. It also demanded that necessary transportation facilities be made for Kheer Bhawani mela falling on May 29.
Later Mr Yogi led the delegation to NC Provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta and discussed the issues pertaining to Minority Cell with him. Mr Gupta who expressed his complete satisfaction over the role of the Cell led by Mr Bakya in promoting the policy and objective of NC urged them to work hard to make the party more stronger.
The Cell leaders in an appeal to DGP urged him to take effective steps in launching a recruitment drive of migrant youth at Jagti.
Pinky Bhat, Karan Choudhary, Bittu Ji Bhat, Ashwani Bhat, Amit Koul, S N Dhar, A K Raina, P L Talashi, K K Suri, M L Labroo, Shadi Lal and others were also present in the delegation.
