Army officer, wife prepare sanitizer to fight pandemic

JAMMU, Apr 18: Electronics and Mechanical Engineers workshop of Rising Star based at Ratnuchak Military Station here under ‘Op Namaste’ has prepared sanitizer to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the ongoing ‘Op Namaste’ launched by Indian Army to fight against the pandemic of COVID-19, one of the Electronics and Mechanical Engineers workshop of the Rising Star Corps has done a breakthrough invention by successfully manufacturing a sanitizer which is Alcohol and Aloe Vera based and thus contributing towards preventing measures for the troops of Indian Army, said the Defence Spokesman.
He said that the project been executed in Ratnuchak Military Station by Major Rohit Rathee and his wife Srishti Singh, a research scholar pursuing her PhD in Gel Based Bio Sensors Solution at VIT Vellore.
The spokesman said that the formulation of sanitizer is based on WHO Guidelines on hand hygiene in health care.
“Till date, a total of 809 litres of sanitizer has been prepared. The per day capacity is 100 litres which can be scaled up depending upon the availability and quality of various chemicals in the local market,” he added.(UNI)
