SAMBA, Apr 18: Samba police claimed to have arrested mother and her son and recovered ten liters of illicit liquor from their possession at Main Chowk Samba here, today.
According to the police , a team of Police Station, Samba headed by Inspector, Suraj Pathania, SHO, Police Station Samba laid vehicle Nakka checking in Main Chowk Samba. During Nakka checking, police party intercepted a scooty bearing registration No JK02CK- 7919 who was coming from Kathua side.
During the search of scooty, police recovered ten liters of illicit liquor from their possession. police said duo, mother and son were arrested on spot.
They have been identified as Veena Devi wife of Bachan Lal and her son namely Akash Kumar resident of Kariyal Bishnah Jammu.
Police further said that they were bringing the illicit liquor from Chak Dhrab Khan area of Kathua.
In this regard police has taken cognizance the matter and started further investigation.
