JAMMU, May 16: A teen-aged girl allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her home and died while mother and her son sustained injuries in a road accident in the Gandhi Nagar area of the winter capital.
Reports said that 18 years old, Monika Devi, daughter of Balwant Singh, resident of Seod, allegedly consumed poisonous substance at her home on May 9. Family members shifted her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she failed to respond to the treatment and died today.
The body was handed over to legal heirs after autopsy while police has registered a case to crack down the reason behind such extreme step taken up by the girl.
Meanwhile mother and her son were injured when a rashly driven mini bus hit them near Gandhi Nagar hospital.
Identified as Swarno Devi, wife of Tej Ram and her son Ravinder, both were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where they were responding to the treatment when last report poured in.
