Monitoring Govt Schools

Sir,
The State Government’s decision to constitute Block Education Committees (BECs) headed by local MLAs to surprise the functioning of Government Schools is a welcome step. Over the years the academic standard of Government Schools has been falling with the opening of private schools. Now people prefer to send their wards to these schools despite enormous amounts levied by these schools as school fee. There are reports that teachers usually play traunt in Government schools as their is no proper supervision over them.
Hope the Block Education Committees may be successful in achieving the objectives these were set for Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand who also holds the education portfolio has assured the Legislative Assembly that steps will be taken to improve the educational standard of schools.
Yours etc….
