Two killed in NH mishap

RAMBAN, Apr 23: Two persons were killed while another was injured when the Tata Mobile vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Maroog area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, late last night.
As per police sources, a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02W-4765 skidded off the road and rolled down into a 300 feet deep gorge near Maroog area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to two others.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals.
Both the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Ramban, where one of the injured persons failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries, thereby raising the death toll to two.
The deceased were identified as Faryad Ahmed, son of Manzoor Ahmed and Mansoor Ahmed, son of Mashkoor Ahmed, both residents of Kunfer, Chanderkote, while the injured was identified as Naseem Ahmed, son of Maqsood Ahmed, a resident of Kunfer, Chanderkote.
Later, the injured person was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for specialized treatment.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
