Ex-MLA Yasin dies, NC pays tributes

SRINAGAR, Apr 23: National Conference leader and former MLA Sonwar Yasin Shah passed away here today.
He was 71.
A three- time Legislator, Shah was first elected as as MLA from Hazartbal constituency in 1987. During 2002 state elections, he won from Sonwar and retained the seat in 2009 bypoll after NC president, Farooq Abdullah vacated it following later’s election as Rajya Sabha MP.
Meanwhile, J&K National Conference president and MP Srinagar , Dr farooq Abdullah, Party vice president Omar Abdullah and other leaders expressed grief and shock over the demise of Yasin Shah and termed it as great loss to the party. They also conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president, GA Mir and Jammu Kashmir Apni Party president, Altaf Bukhari have also condoled the death of former MLA, Yasin Shah and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
