Yayavar organizes ‘Online Literary Festival’

JAMMU, Apr 23: The Yayavar Team organized an Online Literary Festival for the children from standard II to XII with aim to develop friendship between books and the readers.
The Yayavar Team made the fest online because of the ongoing lockdown triggered by COVID-19 pandemic.
The festival was scheduled on same dates in Jammu in normal circumstances but due to lockdown it was moved to online mode thereby making it a global programme and children from Egypt, Russia, Australia and USA participated in it and everything was executed a planned way.
Nupur Sandhu, Founder Director of the festival addressed the online participants and it was followed by Bharatnatayam dance by Sophie Khurana—a class VII student.
To avoid technical glitches the authors briefed with pictures and the blurb of the book and it was followed by beautiful and creative Q and A session by the Creative Director, Jasleen Kour and the authors remained online to answer all the questions and came live too.
A handout stated that Nupur promotes reading a paper bag. The young readers shared their hand written book reviews.
Young students till 12 years of age were involved to make drawings for an author to knit the story on those drawings. Theme was ‘Nature and Friendship’. The team received drawings from all over the country.
Pan India Authors are the one who have written books for kids only. Each and every book has been read by the team before deciding to add it to the festival.
The authors involved in the fest were Shivi Dua from Gurgaon, Manjiri Prabhu from Pune, Prasun Roy from Kolkatta, Saurabh Thakur from Delhi, Abhirup Dhar from Mumbai, Maulshree from Chennai and Yash Tiwari from Kanpur.
The Speakers were Brigadier Rajeev Mahna, Payal Gupta, Neetu Bhalla, Rakesh Pahwa and Shefali Choudhary.
A festival song on Yayavar was one of the highlights as Tanooj, Akira, Vivaan, Naman and Myra—all students of MuSiK Factory, Mumbai sung the Yayavar Festival Song under the guidance of Shipra Malhotra.
Keshav Tiwari, Mehak Dua, Naman Dua, Avneet Dua, Aradhya, Sophie and Sourabh participated in the opening and closing ceremony.
