Kavinder continues distribution of ration among needy

JAMMU, Apr 23: Continuing with his daily routine to distribute ration among the needy since March 23 when restrictions were imposed to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, BJP’s senior leader and former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta today visited certain areas of Nanak Nagar and Gorkh Nagar and distributed ration among the needy and helpless.
He visited Gorkh Nagar and Nanak Nagar areas, which fall in the sprawling Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency which he represented in the Assembly. He distributed wheat flour bags and packets containing a combination of basic staples such as rice, pulses and kitchen items, besides other items of daily use.
Speaking to the people, who collected ration items in the two localities, he asked them to provide him the names of more people, who were facing problems to make their both ends meet in view of the COVID-19 restrictions, so that help reaches them too.
Gupta also called upon them to maintain social distancing and follow all lockdown norms to break the chain of Corona Virus transmission.
The ex-Deputy CM has been visiting every nook and corner of the city for the past one month with a mission – no one should sleep hungry.
Yesterday, he had distributed ration to 250 families in Excelsior Lane at Janipura and at Langar in Kunjwani area. On Tuesday, he had distributed grocery items and other essentials to needy persons in Ward No 68 of Greater Kailash in Gandhi Nagar constituency, saying that BJP’s mool mantra is ‘Nar Seva, Narayan Seva’. Besides, dry ration kits, he had also distributed among people face masks and sanitisers in Ward-68.
He also welcomed the ordinance to protect India’s medical fraternity with steep fines and making any attack on them a cognisable and non-bailable crime.
Gupta complimented Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister, Amit Shah and Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan for passing an ordinance to ensure the safety of India’s medical fraternity.
He said the ordinance was needed in view of several incidents of violence against health workers in the recent past.
