PoJK refugees demand Pahari status

JAMMU, Apr 23: All J&K1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum in an emergency meeting chaired by Adv.Amrik Singh it’s president and organised by Surjit Singh its general secretary through video conferencing expressed anguish over ignoring the PoJK 1947 Sharnarthies in awarding the Pahari status benefits.
The meeting appealed to G.C Murmu, Lt.Governor of J&K UT to enlists the displaced persons of PoJK Sharnarthies who virtually are the originate of Pahari areas which are under Pak unauthorised occupied since 1947 aggression. It said that over 40,000 people belong to Poonch, Muzaffarabad and Mirpur have laid down their lives in fighting shoulder to shoulder with Indian Army against Pak Army. About 10 lakh PoJK Sharnarthi have been displaced and put in various campus in slumps areas of Jammu province and till date neither their left out property whether movable or immovable got registered nor their proper claim has been disbursed, it added.
The Forum also appealed Lt Governor to constitute a Committee to verify their language culture and other curricular whether it resembles with Pahari speaking people or not. “We have not migrated on our own but were forced to migrate and in fact we are the savior of J&K”.
Keeping in view the facts and obtaining reports from the Committee the Forum demanded to include PoJK Sharnarthies in Pahari category Schedule and all Pahari benefits be awarded in their favour.
