JAMMU, Apr 23: National Democratic Party Union (NDPI) has sought the intervention of J&K LG to bring back people of the UT stranded outside due to ongoing lockdown.
NDPI J&K UT president Rajesh Gupta urged Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu to prepare a comprehensive plan for bringing back stranded citizens of J&K immediately. Gupta said, “J&K Government must intervene to ensure safe return of all the stranded students, employees, other citizens from different parts of the country”.
Gupta said if Uttar Pradesh Government can make arrangements to bring back 7,500 stranded students from Rajasthan”s Kota and four Himachal MPs can return to the hill-state from Delhi, why we cannot make a plan as per protocol for safe return of our citizens stranded in Mumbai, Delhi and other places.
He said there are many distress calls coming to relatives, civil society organizations and the elected representatives from the stranded citizens of the UT and the Government should take a decision without any delay.
