JAMMU, Apr 24: Pensioners and Senior Citizens Forum UT of J&K has demanded that instead of freezing the DA to Central Government employees and pensioners from January 2020 to July 2021, the Government should fix some amount towards the Relief Fund which both employees and pensioners will pay gladly.
In a statement issued here, today Forum said the decision regarding freezing of DA is not appropriate as same is given only as per the increase of market index.
Forum said it may be appropriate if such harsh step towards employees and old age pensioners who are senior citizens be stopped and reconsidered and all DA installments be released in their favour which are due to them from January 2020.
However, the Forum said that all may contribute some amount towards relief to be fixed by the, Government.
