JAMMU, Apr 5: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has bagged National Award for Excellence in Hospitality Education for the year 2011-12.
The award was received today by Anal Kumar Gupta, Special Secretary, Tourism & Culture, J&K from the Union Minister of State for Tourism, K Chiranjeevi during award presenting ceremony at Dr DS Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, Dalhousie Road, New Delhi.
Pertinent to mention that Ministry of Tourism, Government of India together with the National Council of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) has instituted National Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Education, which are given away each year for best HR practices.
For the year 2011-12, J&K Tourism Department has bagged the award under the category: “Best State for taking initiative under Broad Basing”.
