SAMBA, Apr 25: Continuing its drive against the illegal sale of liquor in the district, Samba Police today arrested a person for preparing and selling illicit liquor at his home in village Ratwana falling under the jurisdiction of the Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information, police team of PS Ghagwal conducted raid at village Ratwana and seized four liters of illicit Desi liquor from the possession of accused person namely Roshan Lal, S/o Thakur Dass of Ratwana, Ghagwal and destroyed 60 litres of lahan on the spot. He was arrested by the police and distillation material was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 38/2020 US 48 (E) Excise Act was registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
SSP Samba Shakti Pathak said that as the sale of liquor is prohibited by the Government the drive against the anti-social elements involved in the manufacturing and sale of illicit liquor will be intensified so that such elements may not take advantage of the situation to gain illegitimate profit.
