JAMMU, Apr 25: Management of Thandi Khui and Ban toll plazas have refuted all allegations of harassment of the general public at their toll plazas.
Manager, Thandu Khui and Ban toll plazas, Ravi Gautam, said that some few vested interests are misguiding the general public against the toll plazas’ contractor appointed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) which only acts as per rules and guidelines available in public domain and also on the websites of Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and NHAI.
He said that as per the established guidelines there is no provision for free entry for locals at toll plazas but the commuters residing within 20 kilometres from the toll plazas can avail monthly passes at Rs 280 per month as per the order issued on March 29, 2020 issued from Regional Office, NHAI, J&K based upon MoRTH guidelines on the subject.
“Local commercial vehicles without national permit have been granted 50% concession but only if they are availing FASTag facility as per guidelines circulated by NHAI on January 15, 2020. For to and fro facility, rates are applicable as per FASTag norms,” Gautam said.
Stating that some vested interests are continuously doing malicious propaganda against management of the toll plazas, Gautam appealed general public not to get misled by it as management is duty bound to operate toll plazas strictly as per guidelines.
