Prayers offered but no celebrations on Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti

JAMMU, Apr 25: On the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, people from different walk of life, especially Brahman community, Dogra Brhaman Pratinidhi Sabha Jammu and other social activists paid rich tributes to Bhagwan Parshuram ji from their respective homes because of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
Three- day celebration function by the DBPS, which was scheduled to be held from 24th April in the premises of Brahman Sabha, has already been cancelled because of the lockdown.
DBPS president Ved Parkash Sharma, V M Magotra, Advocate P C Sharma, Subash Shastri, Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, N C Sharma, M L Sharma, Satyanand Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Dev Raj Sharma, Sat Paul Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Raman Sharma, Prem Balotra, Jagan Nath, K L Sharma and others units of the Sabha also prayed for well being of the people around the world to get rid of Covid-19 impact.
The people offered prayers and lighted earthen divas for the occasion and hoped for peace and prosperity of the people. They also appealed to the people to stay at home and maintain social distancing. They further lauded the services by doctors, paramedical staff, paramilitary forces, J&K Police, NGO volunteers and others, who are leaving no stone unturned to contain Covid-19 pandemic.
Brahman Sabha Sainik Colony also offered prayers on the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti and sought blessings for the entire world, which is fighting COVID-19. After the prayers, members of the Sabha honoured Police officials of Police Post Sainik Colony for their tireless efforts during the lockdown period and also distributed Halwa Prasad among the people of Ward number 69, 70 and 74 while maintaining social distancing.
The occasion was graced by President of the Sainik Colony Sabha, Khem Raj Sharma, Devinder Sharma, Sanjeev Manmotra, Satish Sharma, Santosh Sharma and Incharge PP Sainik Colony, Vikas Hans.
