RRC, AD Planning review sanitation, other arrangements in migrant camps

JAMMU, Apr 25: Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner, T. K. Bhat along with, Assistant Director, Planning, Rajneesh Kapoor visited various migrant camps to review the arrangements there in view of the lockdown.
The camps which the RRC and A D Planning visited included, Purkhoo, Muthi, Butta Nagar and mini township Jagti.
RRC said all the camp commandants of respective camps are personally monitoring all the activities and he impressed upon them that they should take all steps in order to mitigate the genuine grievances of the camp inmates. The RRC was informed that ration for the month of April and May 2020 has been fully distributed at Purkhoo, Muthi and Butta Nagar while as it was in progress at Jagti. As on date 197.28 quintals of ration have been distributed amongst the camp inmates at Purkhoo while as 855 quintals have been distributed at Muthi, Butta Nagar and non camp areas of Muthi through five ration dealers.
It was further informed that till date 1212 quintals of ration has been distributed amongst the camp inmates of Jagti through three dealers. A total of 8428 quintals of ration has been lifted from consumer affairs godowns, Jammu and the distribution among non camp areas is in progress.
The camp commandants were directed to remain vigilant and in touch with the camp inmates. The sanitation agencies were directed to ensure round the clock sanitation and cleanliness in the camps, ensure fumigation and make use of all disinfectants so that the cleanliness and sanitation of highest order is maintained.
Attention of all the camp inmates was also invited to various notifications/advisories issued by the Government in view of lockdown and the camp commandants were asked not to allow them to come out from their homes unnecessarily. The camp inmates were asked to extend full cooperation in adhering to various advisories issued by the Government in general.
Furthermore, All PHCs located in camps of Purkhoo and Muthi were inspected and it was found that these were functioning properly.
The CCs and ZOs were also directed to remain vigilant on the genuine complaints which are being reported by migrants. It was further informed that the portal was made available to the migrants on official website of Relief Organisation (jkmigrantrelief.nic.in) on April 6, so that the genuine grievances can be lodged. Till date around 65 complaints have been received and were redressed.
At Muthi Camp Relief Commissioner and Assistant Director Planning distributed some packets of ration to some needy families which was organized by president Muthi Camp along with his volunteers.
