GGF pays homage to Babu Jagjivan Ram

JAMMU, Apr 5: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) today paid homage to the freedom fighter and former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 106th birth anniversary.
While addressing the gathering in IIIM auditorium Jammu, eminent scientist of the country and Director IIIM Dr Ram Vishwakarma said that Babuji remained a strong follower of Mahatma Gandhi. During freedom movement he strengthened Mahatma Gandhi’s satyagraha and liberated India from the British rule.
While welcoming the guests, Padmashree SP Varma, State president, GGF appealed to Union Government for the conferment of Bharat Ratna to Babuji keeping in view his pre and post independence contributions towards the country.
Message of Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar was read by RL Bharti, ex-member JKPSC.
Major-General GS Jamwal, Naresh Chander Lal, Producer and Director of movie “Gandhi Ji Mahatma”, Dr Taran Singh, Abdul Majid Bichoo, Narinder Sharma and Parvinder Singh also spoke on the occasion.
