Srinagar, Apr 5: Police and army in a joint operation today arrested three persons and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession in the Central Kashmir district of Budgam.
The arrested persons have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Wani, Abdul Rahim Dar and Ali Mohammad Khan. They were arrested by a joint search party of police and Rashtriya Rifles from a village in Khag area of district Budgam.
Security forces recovered two single bore guns, 18 live and nine empty cartridges of 12-bore gun, 10 rounds of Chinese pistol, three mobile phones, a rifle cleaning rod, a bottle containing 50 ml of rifle cleaning oil and a gas cylinder from the arrested persons.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
