JAMMU, Apr 5: In protest against alleged delaying tactics of the State Government over their long pending demands, All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association has called for indefinite strike from April 8.
Decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the Association, held under the chairmanship of its president Aafaq Ahmed Shopiani and attended by all the district presidents.
The meet highlighted the Association demands, which included removal of pay anomaly, DPC of Girdwars, enhancing the number of chances for PSC exam, no direct recruitment of Naib-Tehsildars, construction of Patwarkhanas, re-organisation of Patwar halqas and enhancement of Sair Kharcha.
The Association said  that the Government had agreed in written that all these demands were justified and would be resolved before March 31, 2012 following which strike by the members was suspended last year.
The meet observed that keeping in view the delaying tactics of the Government over the demands, the Association was left with no option other than to resume its indefinite strike from April 8.
