Sahu takes stock of people’s grievances

JAMMU, Apr 5: In order to redress the grievances of the people, District Development Commissioner (DDC),Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu convened a  meeting with prominent citizens and representatives of NGO’s  here today
ADC, Jammu, Assistant Commissioner (G), Tehsildar, SSP Jammu, Ex Mayor JMC, EX Deputy Mayor JMC, representatives from different religious organizations, Transport Association, Tour and Travel Association, Hoteliers and Bar Association besides NGOs and prominent citizens attended the meeting
Participants raised various issues related to CAPD , parking slots, power at important places , hike in fee in private educational institutions, water supply, menace of overloading and over charging in public transport .
They unanimously voiced their demands for proper parking at Bus Stand, Air Port and Railway Station, special bus service for women and  launching of anti drugs drive in the district. They also demanded prepaid taxi and autoriksha service.
The DDC said that the main objective of holding this meeting is to get apprised with the demands and the problems of the people  and to redress the same in a time bound manner. He said that administration would ensure good governance so that people of the district do not face any inconvenience.
Mr. Sahu underscored the need to evolve effective mechanism to deliver better services to the people adding that the redressal of public grievances is his first priority.
He assured the participants that district administration will make all out efforts to redress grievances of the people and for this purpose a District Control Room would be set up so that people can give   their suggestions or inform about their problems. He exhorted upon the participants/citizens to maintain peace, brotherhood and harmony in the district.
