RAMBAN, Apr 27: Frequent disruptions due to shooting stones suspended movement of vehicular traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban sector for about four hours today.

Official sources said that due to falling of boulders/ shooting stones frequently near Cafetaria Morh in Ramban during the day today, the movement of traffic remained disrupted for over two hours. The machines deployed in the area cleared road several times but again and again shooting stones caused disruption. The movement Army convoy and trucks loaded with essential commodities destined for Kashmir also remained affected during the day.
Again, at around 5 pm, the shooting stones at dangerous Panthyal zone, suspended the movement of vehicles on the highway. The movement of the vehicles could be restored only around 7.30 pm after road clearance work. But the movement remained very slow as single vehicle at one time was allowed to pass this 200 mtrs dangerous stretch. There was light rain in the area during afternoon, however, no major land slide was reported today in this sector.
The reports of rain have also been received from parts of Udhampur, Doda and higher reaches of Reasi and Poonch. It has brought down temperature in the region.
