SAMBA, Apr 27: The search operations in border belt of Samba and Kathua districts were conducted for second consecutive day today which were suspended yesterday evening after no clue of any terrorist intruding from across the border was found any where in the area.
According to official sources the search operations were resumed late last night in the border belt of Kathua and early morning in Samba district after they were suspended during last evening as there were inputs with the security forces and police that some suspects were found moving in the border area.

Sources said searches were held by J&K Police, SOG and CRPF jawans in Bainnallah area, Ramgarh border belt, Ghagwal, Basantar river in Samba district and various areas of Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district including areas near the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and Kandi belt on the basis of inputs received by security forces and police.
Sources said the National Highway (NH) was also closed for vehicular traffic this morning during the search operations by the police. However there was no clue of any suspect from any where, sources added.
Confirming that there were reports of suspects movement in the border belt, SSP Kathua, Shailender Mishra told Excelsior that some local people had seen the movement of some suspects in the area and we also got suspected about the same so the search operations were re-launched during late last night. He said even the NH in the area was also closed to make the operation foolproof. However the operation was closed on the NH area in the morning but it continued in the Kandi belt upto 11-30 am.
He said though the search operation has been stopped but the constant vigil will be maintained in the entire border belt in future also.
Additional SP Samba, Faisal Qureshi said that the inputs about infiltration are normal. He said the joint operations were made in the various areas of the border belt of Samba district today also to ascertain that no one has intruded from across the border.
It may be recalled that yesterday evening the joint operation by J&K Police, SOG and CRPF was launched in the border belt of Jammu region right from Gajansoo in Jammu district to Hiranagar in Kathua district on the basis of inputs that some movements of suspects were seen in the border belt. After continuing the search operations for two hours from 5-30 pm to 7-30 pm they were closed as no clue of any suspect was found anywhere in the entire belt.
Later in the border belt of Hiranagar in Kathua district the search operations were re-launched during late last night while in Samba district it was launched early this morning to make sure that any suspect is not hiding any where in the border belt.
