KATRA, Apr 28: Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, in its endevour of providing masks to the society, started its campaign by providing 20,000 masks to the administration through Asstt Director Tourism, Katra and then 2000 masks to the President of Municipal Committee Katra Indu Bimal for use of the same by sweepers and other employees.
Rakesh Wazir, President of the Association, who was accompanied by its Chairman Shyam Lal Kesar and Sr Vice President Virender Kesar, said that measures like social distancing, staying at home and bearing of masks are the basic tools by which spread of COVID-19 pandemic can be contained.
He further said that bearing of masks will become necessity after relaxation in lockdown and hence the Association in the first phase is making 50,000 masks for free distribution among people. “And if needed, this number will be increased further,” he added and thanked the Association members for coming forward in this noble cause.
Kesar, while speaking on the occasion, also said that the masks will become part and parcel of life in the coming days as only those countries had contained this Coronavirus where the basic precautions like lockdown, social distancing and bearing of masks was implemented in letter and spirit.
