3 narcotic smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Apr 28: Continuing its offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Police today arrested three narcotic smugglers from Subash Nagar and Barrian area of Udhampur and recovered 13 grams of heroin from their possession.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey said that a Police patrolling party, led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur and Dr Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, intercepted an accused Amar Shah of Subash Nagar Udhampur and recovered 7 grams heroin like substance from his possession.
In another success, the same police party apprehended two more suspected persons from Barrian area of Udhampur for checking. During their personnel search, six grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from both the persons, identified as Ranjit Singh of Barrian, Udhampur and Kewal Singh of Latti.
In this connection, two FIRs, number 171/2020 and 172/2020, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act have been registered at PS Udhampur.
