KPs resent Govt’s delaying tactics on Shrines Bill

JAMMU, Apr 5: The Kashmiri Pandits have expressed serious concern over the delaying tactics adopted by Government in passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and temples Bill.
Reacting to Government’s decision to send the Bill to Selection Committee (SC), Dr R L Bhat spokesman Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust said that the Government kept this Bill hanging for four years already and now there was no need of sending it to SC.
This shows that Government is not totally sincere in passage of the Bill and they have  deceived the community. Had they been sincere they could have come with amendments in last four years.
He also expressed concern over the points raised by some opposition leaders saying it reveals that they too were non serious in passage of the Bill.
All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) chief Vinod Pandit while expressing his dismay over the role played by the Government in not passing the Bill despite the assurances today, said that it is evident that under some pressure the NC and Congress leadership is trying to scuttle the passage of the Bill. He said the role played by two parties has hurt the sentiments of the Community.
KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri while expressing his serious concern over the way the Government on last movement send the Bill to SC shows total non seriousness of it towards the protection of Hindu shrines in Valley.
He said if the Bills for protection of other Hindu shrines have come why the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines Bill is being delayed which has thrice been introduced in the House. He said the community has lost its faith in the present dispensation totally.
NC leader and Ex MLC Bushan Lal Bhat also showed his reservation for sending the Bill to SC and appealed the Government to create conditions for passage of the bill by convening a special session at soon Srinagar after the Darbar move.
