JAMMU, Apr 29: Lane No 6/7 Jagti Township has plunged into darkness after the transformer in the area developed a snag one month back.
The inhabitants of the two lanes held a protest demonstration under the leadership of Shady All Pundit president Jagti Tenement Committee demanding that either the transformer be immediately restored or be replaced by new one as the inmates are facing many hardships due to power failure in the area.
The protestors also warned o come to streets in case the transformer was not immediately restored. They alleged that despite repeated pleas to the Government and concerned authorities no steps in last one month were taken to restore the transformer. They said in view of the appreciating summer the authorities should ensure immediate restoration of transformer so that the camp inmates are not put to more hardships.
