Former Mayor for evacuation of people stranded in Maharashtra

JAMMU, May 1: Former Mayor and president All India Jat Mahasabha, J&K today appealed the Government to evacuate people of Jammu region stuck in Maharashtra.
In a statement here, Singh said they informed me telephonically that there were hundreds of people, most of them hailing from districts of Kathua and Samba, have been stuck there since the lockdown was imposed. “They conveyed their troubles and told me for early evacuation”, Singh said.
He further said that all they need help at this point of juncture so that they reach their home before any eventuality.
Singh requested the UT Authority to contact the Maharashtra Government and asked them to provide food to these stuck people. They aren’t receiving any support from the Government side there. Meanwhile their family members are struggling here to make ends meet without them.
“At this time when everybody is trying to evacuate their stranded people, how can we ignore people of the J&K stuck outside? Bringing them back should be our priority right now, that too when our UT authority has already started process of transporting people stranded in other states,” he asserted.
He urged the authorities should reach out to these people as soon as possible and make arrangements to bring them back. These people are currently staying in Mumbai and can be located in areas at New Bombay Bachi, Dana Bandar, Masjid Bandar, Cotton Green, Saki Naka, Andheri, Meera Road, Vasai, Bhiwandi, Manjhi Wada, Kalyan Bye Pass and Taloja.
