Copper, nickel prices strengthen on fresh buying

NEW DELHI, Apr 6:  Prices of copper and nickel strengthened by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metals market today on fresh buying by stockists on pick up in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists due to rise in demand from consuming industries and a report of a firming global trend mainly led to a rise in copper and nickel prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4×4) recovered by Rs 2 each to Rs 426 and Rs 1,050-1,053 per kg, respectively.
The following are metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 117-123, nickel plate (4×4) 1,050-1,053, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 426, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 136, lead imported 134, aluminium ingots 138, sheet cutting 139, aluminium wire scrap 142 and aluminium utensils scrap 138. (PTI)
