MoS Agri holds webinar with Kissan Morcha leaders

JAMMU, May 3: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Kailash Choudhary, took stock of the problems being faced by the farmers of the Jammu and Kashmir during ongoing lockdown, in a video conference with J&K BJP Kisan Morcha leaders led by their president Omi Khajuria.
The team of BJP Kisan Morcha leaders including Sugunakar Rao and Shambhu Kumar (general secretaries, All India BJP Kisan Morcha) highlighted the problems being faced by the farmers of J&K due to ongoing lockdown. The Union Minister gave a patient hearing to participants who presented their view point through virtual mode and were representing all the districts of J&K UT.
The Minister, in his address to the BJP Kisan Morcha leaders, assured every possible help to the farmers of J&K UT.
Kailash Choudhary also informed the participants about various schemes launched by the Central Government for the welfare of the people, particularly the farmers. He informed that for the immediate assistance to the farmers, mobile apps like “Kissan Rath App” which provides the opportunity to transport the agriculture produces and “FPO (Farmers Production Organization) App” have been launched.
The Minister further informed the leaders that the Government has extended special package of Rs 200 crores in agriculture sector. Due to Coronavirus and lockdown, the Government has transferred about Rs 18000 crores directly in the account of farmers @ Rs 2000 per family. The Minister assured the BJP Kisan Morcha Team for timely solution of all the problems.
Other Kisan Morcha leaders who participated in video conferencing from Union Territory team included Raman Singh, Dr Jagadutt Sharma and Rohit Verma (general secretaries), Sanjeev Sharma (publicity secretary), Sarfraz Hamid Rather (spokesperson) and Ankush Choudhary (media secretary).
