JAMMU, May 4: To take stock of police preparedness and measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh today visited the Samba, Kathua and Lakhanpur.
During the visit IGP Jammu also visited quarantine centre at Radha Swami Ashram, Thandi Khui, Samba. He also took stock of the movement and entry of essential goods in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at Lakhanpur.
At Lakhanpur, IGP Jammu inspected the Inter-State Entry Point and complimented SSP Kathua and other officers for ensuring smooth entry and movement of essential goods in the Union Territory after proper screening at the barrier.
The officers briefed him about the security and health protocols being observed there.
A detailed review of arrangements for movement of stranded labour and students from other states was also taken.
At District Police Lines Kathua,IGP Jammu interacted with “United Kathua” and reviewed Emergency response delivery system which have been established by the Police and volunteers as ‘United Kathua’ to help the poor/needy people.
IGP said that J&K Police is leading from the forefront along with other departments in the fight against the deadly virus and emphasized other that it is important to follow the Government orders and health protocols.
The officers gave the detailed briefing to the IGP Jammu Zone about the preparedness and measures being taken against the fight of COVID 19 -pandemic in their respective jurisdictions.
