Former MLA stages silent protest against DC

RAMBAN, May 4: Former MLA and senior Congress leader, Ashok Kumar today staged silent protest against the Deputy Commissioner (DC) for his alleged unkind behaviour towards the quarantine people.
In a press statement, he said the district administration is not providing sufficient and hygiene food items to the stranded people of Ramban under quarantine at Dalwas here.”Contaminated food items are being served to these people which is complete violation of the guidelines issued by the Central Government for quarantine people,” he alleged.
Criticizing this unkind behaviour of the district administration towards them, Kumar demanded life saving ambulances for the quarantine centre at Dalwas . “There should be one medical specialist, paediatrics, and microbiologist for sample collection at every quarantine centres and at least one psychologist for the routine examination of the people under quarantine as per the Government guidelines issued,” he demanded.
Ashok Kumar further said after the completion of the quarantine process, the stranded people belonging to the same district should be send back to their native places with free transport facilities as many among them are already jobless and have no money to pay.
He urged the J&K Government to take care of their safety until the process of quarantine ends.
