JAMMU, May 5: An emergent meeting of All J&K Plus Two Lecturers’ Forum was convened through teleconferencing by its President Deepak Sharma, who urged Lt Governor J&K, G C Murmu to grant special incentive in favour of all Government employees, including teaching community of Education Department who have been engaged in COVID-19 pandemic related assignments and also demanded hassle free drawal of salary.
Deepak Sharma said that like other Government employees engaged in COVID-19 pandemic containment measures , the teaching community including Plus Two Lecturers are also actively engaged in various duties like door to door distribution of Mid Day Meal ration, free text books, home assignments and also engaged as Nodal Officers and assistants at various quarantine centres besides door to door survey of COVID-19 related cases. Hence all Government employees including teaching community deployed on COVID-19 related duties should be provided with special incentive as they are COVID19 warriors and are thus vulnerable, he added.
Deepak Sharma also sought the intervention of LG for relaxation in salary drawal procedure for the time being till the situation is conducive for the same .
It is pertinent to mention that UT administration has directed all the Drawing and Disbursing officers to draw the salary for the month of April 2020 onward only through JK PaySystem. But due to low speed internet, the portal is posing many issues and DDOs are facing many hurdles and finding it hard to draw the salary of employees through JK PaySys especially during pervailing lockdown situation. Forum hoped to get respite in this regard for hassle free drawal of salary.
