RAMBAN, May 5: The Forest Department staff in a prompt action today retrieved about 6 kanals of forest land grabbed by two local villagers in Gool Range of Ramban Forest Division.
Official sources said that a complaint was lodged by one Mohd Yousuf, son of Mahmodu Dar of Dedha village with Forest Range office Gool that one Mohd Hafiz, son of Abdullah Rather had encroached the forest land in Compartment No. 61. The staff took up the matter with DFO Ramban.
Then the DFO Anwar Aftab Shah directed Range Officer, Gool Sajad Hussain for removal of encroachment from the forest land immediately. The Forest team rushed to the spot and removed encroachment from the two different locations. It was found that even the complainant had also grabbed some forest area which was also cleared by the team. Yousuf had encroached upon 3 kanals of land.
