Vikram kick starts new construction of EP houses

Senior Congress leader Vikram Malhotra starting construction work at Ward No. 15 on Saturday.

JAMMU, Apr 6 : Senior Congress leader and former general secretary, All India Youth Congress (AIYC), Vikram Malhotra today kick started all new construction of old ‘Kachha’ houses belonging to Evacuee Property (EP) at Daroogiran Mohalla in Ward No. 15.
As a number of houses belonging to Custodian Property, which were constructed even before the time of partition, were in dilapidated condition and people, who have been accommodated in these houses, were demanding new construction of the same since long, but due to unknown reasons it could not be made possible.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Malhotra demanded ownership rights to the occupants of EP houses immediately and asserted that problems of people having been accommodated in such houses should be taken care of.
He also informed that funds required for the purpose of new construction of houses have been sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of Chairman of Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra.
According to Pawan Sharma, president, Lok Sevak Mandli Misrari, Ward No. 15 who is also resident of the same area, it has been an 18-month long struggle of his organization and the problem is going to be sorted out with the intervention of Vikram Malhotra.
