KATHUA, May 5: The terminated paramedical staff started preparing and selling tea to register their protest in premises of GMC Kathua as a protest against the Government action of termination order served to them recently.
The youth including girls assembled in the premises of GMC Kathua and started preparing tea on Gas stove as a mark of protest against the Government action. They sold the tea and biscuits to passerby with slogans, “Tea Tea Tea, 10 rupees, 10 rupees”. The youth also raised strong protest against Government action and slogans in support of their demands. They alleged that they are sitting on protest dharna for last 33 days and became unemployed despite being professionals after termination by Medical and Health Education Department.
The protestors alleged that despite the repeated approach made to Advisor to LG, Chief Secretary and Health and Medical Education Department, Principal Secretary, no one bothered to listen their woes. The professionals are in great desperation as they have become unemployed and have no other job than to prepare the Tea and sell it. They demanded extension to continue their job so that they may be able to earn their livelihood.
Meanwhile, the terminated contractual employees of Rajouri Medical College have also demanded revocation of decision and continuation of their services. They made an appeal to Lt Governor, G C Murmu alleging the authorities of Health and Medical Education be issued directives to continue their services on vacant posts in the Department.
