Govt constitutes committee for promotion of Urdu

JAMMU, Apr 6: For the promotion of official language Urdu in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Government has constituted a high level committee with Chief Secretary as its Chairman.
The seven-member committee shall explore the possibility of setting up Urdu Academy at both the capital cities and find out ways and means of overcoming shortage of Urdu, Dogri and Kashmiri language teachers in the Government schools, particularly the possibility of appointing subject specific teachers by the Education Department.
The committee will submit its report to the Government within 45 days.
Its other members included Administrative Secretaries of Higher Education, School Education and Culture Department besides Directors of School Education Jammu/ Kashmir and Secretary Academy of Art Culture and Languages.
