DC inspects road widening, sewerage works

JAMMU, Apr 6: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu accompanied by Commissioner, JMC, K L Khajuria and other officers of Aquaf and PWD (R&B) today visited Jamia Masjid Jammu. The road widening to Jamia Masjid was discussed with the officers so as to take immediate steps for rehabilitation of affected persons.
After visiting Jamia Masjid, DDC accompanied with Project Manager, ERA, team leader DSC, Jammu and Executive Engineers of PHE City Division NO-I and UEED, visited 30 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plan at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu and inspected other ongoing works on Ranbir Collector Trunk Sewer.
During the course of inspection of sewerage works, different impediments being faced at each site which include shifting of utilities by PDD & PHE came were discussed and it was decided that PDD and PHE will work in close coordination with ERA so that hassle free corridor is provided for laying of sewerage trunk in the area. It was also directed that while executing sewerage works, it must be ensure that public of the area may not put to unnecessary inconvenience.
Regarding dumping of malba at nallah crossing site, near Cremation Ground Shakti Nagar, Jammu it was decided that JMC will take necessary steps for regular clearance of mulba so that ERA may not face any difficulty in execution of sewerage works.
Sahu impressed upon the different executing agencies to execute the works, in double shift, so that works are completed within shortest possible time, which would minimize the inconvenience to the public. ERA will notify the work schedule in advance for the information of the public and also finalize traffic diversion plan, in consultation with, the SP Traffic city. There should be no time lag is completion of works, he asserted.
