JAMMU, May 7: Senior BJP leader & Ex-Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta handed over 200 face masks to the Microbiology Department of GMC here, besides distributing ration and other daily use items among the needy and helpless in five localities of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
He handed over masks to Dr Shashi Sudan Sharma, Professor and Head of Department of Microbiology, GMC, in the presence of CD Hospital superintendent, Dr Rajeshwar Sharma, Dr Ruchita Mahajan, incharge Microbiologist of IRL Lab (COVID-19 testing facility), Dr Amrish Swaroop Kohli, Dr Zaeen Khan, Dr Rekha Rani and technicians and other support staff, including Vikas Gupta, Sumit Mahajan, Kushal Sharma, Ankush Raina and Shubham Padha.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said the face shields would provide more safety to Corona warriors from the Department of Microbiology, GMC, who are working in a high risk zone.
The face shields were provided by M/s U&I through its representative Ravish Gupta.
Gupta also honoured the doctors and technicians and thanked them for working selflessly ‘to save all of us in this fight against Coronavirus’.
He was accompanied by Ankush Gupta and Corporator Ajay Gupta. Gupta also visited Raipur Satwari and distributed ration among 200 families who have been worst affected by the Coronavirus-enforced lockdown. All these families are left with no source of income in view of the lockdown which has been enforced by the Government to prevent the further spread of pandemic.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Vinay Gupta, Kehar Singh, Naib-Sarpanch Avtar, Sunil Kumar, Suraj Raina, Narinder Singh, Daler Singh, Hishiar Singh, Rohin Chandan, Sahil Singh, Sanjeev Manhas and panch Anju Devi.
Gupta also dispatched ration to four localities – Balmiki Basti, Rajiv Nagar, Jeevan Nagar and Bhore Camp.
