RAJOURI, May 10: Block Development Council (BDC) Koteranka has formed committees to look after those returning to the Block from outside J&K and each elected representative will take care of five such persons.
Following norms of social distancing, BDC Chairman, Javed Choudhary chaired a meeting of the Council and distributed masks among the Sarpanches and Panches. The meeting also served the training purpose on sanitization and social distancing.
Speaking on the occasion the BDC Chairman said that elected representatives in Koteranka-Budhal block have done a house to house survey of people working outside J&K.
“We have found that 1600 men from the Block are working outside and they are stuck there,” he informed adding that since the government has launched evacuation mission, measures for care and precautions with these workers returning back to their homes should be planned. He said, every Sarpanch and Panch has taken individual responsibilities of taking care of five such persons to ensure that they don’t immediately mix with others and also they don’t face any stigma.
The meeting was also attended by Block Development Officer Koteranka and other officials of the Department.
